Business Men SilhouetteSince the signing of the Bill of Rights, American citizens as a whole have come to take life, liberty and the pursuitof happiness for granted. In an ever changing and global world, Americans are finding that they can no longer be complacent in regards to their personal safety in the workplace, on business trips, or on vacation with their families. More and more people are stepping forward and demanding knowledge and training in personal safety.

By the beginning of the next millennium, approximately 414 cities will exist with populations exceeding one million. Incredibly, approximately 26 of these megalopolises will have populations reaching ten million. Cities with mushrooming populations run an increased risk for conflict, instability and poverty. The majority of people in America work in cities and travel to similar cities around the world with ever expanding populations everyday. More and more people are finding themselves in situations they are not equipped to handle; on airplanes, in foreign cities too far from the embassy, and yes, even right in their own homes, neighborhoods and companies.

The question remains what options do the individual person and their employers have to ensure their safety and current level of liberty? The answer is simple, awareness and personal safety training.

The purpose of awareness training and personal safety training is to condition and train people to have a heightened sense of awareness of their surroundings and what is going on around them. Being able to assess one's situation at all times, increases a person's ability to judge situations or areas that may become potential problems. Sometimes simple avoidance is all that is necessary for safety. In addition to awareness training, the program trains people in methods of personal protection when avoidance is not an option. To be effective, the program provides the average person simple methods to defend themselves in stressful and physically threatening situations. The system is easy to learn and requires minimal practice and training to achieve and maintain proficiency, yet it can be the difference between safety and harm.
